Thank goodness for security.

See C4P for more book tour coverage, videos, news items and trip reports. No security needed !

Speaking of C4P, HillBuzz is excited about working with them on the Clinton/Palin Consensus Series in anticipation of a Coffee Summit in the future. Wouldn’t that be fun :)

Update: Young fan ambushed by Norah O’Donnell and writes a diary about the experience. What is up with these nasty NBC people?

You can read her diary here.

H/T to Hot Air’s Allahpundit who snarks….

I knew the smart-ass would end up there someday. I just didn’t think it’d be as a tourist.

The detainees live better than a lot of Americans, nevermind those in prison here in the states. Why would Obama want to shut this down? Political? Heh.

Allahpundit continues…..

Seems like a travelogue at the beginning, but stick with it. He’s got a point. Many points, actually.

It’s definitely worth viewing, and I couldn’t believe how much angrier I am at the media. You’ll see……!

How do you solve a problem like….Newsweek?

H/T Stealth Fusion

Days like this I wish I could subscribe again, just to unsubscribe….again. I was a 30 year subscriber up til Newsweek’s Obamaslobber covers dominated my mailbox.

Or could Newsweek be sending us a subliminal message:

I choose to be inspired :)

Funny, they took their cover title from “Sound of Music” and the song about Maria, who the Nazi’s wanted to destroy. Funny, Nuns sung the tune about the movie’s beloved Maria. But we all know the ending :)

Just suppose, Hillary Clinton, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin stuck it to the the media like….

Here’s a clip from C-Span: (not really)

And a hat tip to HillBuzz for doing my Star Wars homework:

The scene above is from the last Star Wars movie, with Natalie Portman’s Senator Amidala commenting that, “This is how Liberty dies, to thunderous applause”, as Supreme Chancellor Palpatine declares himself Emperor and all of his followers, sycophants, and media-enablers cheer.

Thank goodness I’m lucky to have “Luke Skywalker” represent me in Congress :) Glenn Nye, a Democrat who listened to his constituents, now that is the hopeychangey I can get onboard with ! Glenn voted NO. Thank you.

As the horrific details of the Fort Hood shootings were unfolding on t.v. yesterday, Shep Smith of Fox News throws it to the President’s live comments addressing the situation. Americans, looking for the reassurance we were not under attack, thinking this could be a successful Fort Dix Terror Plot? Nope. Obama begins with 2 minutes of oddball shout-outs to a few people in the audience of the gig he was attending. Feel the disconnect…

Opening comments:

THE PRESIDENT: Please, everybody have a seat. Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference. I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout-out to that Congressional Medal of Honor* winner. It’s good to see you. (Applause.)
My understanding is, is that you had an extremely productive conference. I want to thank all of you for coming and for your efforts, and I want to give you my solemn guarantee that this is not the end of a process but a beginning of a process, and that we are going to follow up. (Applause.) We are going to follow up. Every single member of my team understands that this is a top priority for us. I want you to know that, as I said this morning, this is not something that we just give lip service to. And we are going to keep on working with you to make sure that the first Americans get the best possible chances in life in a way that’s consistent with your extraordinary traditions and culture and values.
Now, I have to say, though, that beyond that, I plan to make some broader remarks about the challenges that lay ahead for Native Americans, as well as collaboration with our administration, but as some of you might have heard, there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas.

There. Feel better? Reassured? While he eventually addressed Fort Hood, literally reading his “heartfelt compassion” from note cards as though he had no heart, we need to remind our President he is the glue that holds our country together and start behaving like it. Stop campaigning and start leading!

Many thanks to Hot Air for the video and transcript.

Also, best online coverage seems to be at Hot Air using many media sources with open discussions.

Update: Why was Nidal Malik Hasan still in the Army? And is Obama having problems addressing this situation because:

Fort Hood shooter was member of Homeland Security Panel advising Obama!

Michelle Bachmann’s Call to Action – Make a House Call on Congress!

Noon, Thursday, November 5th, 2009, Capitol Hill Steps.

From Rep. Bachmann’s press release:

Make a House Call on Congress on November 5th and Stop the Government Take Over of Health Care!

November 5th, 2009

Democrat leadership in the House wants to pass a government run health care bill before Veteran’s Day, and it’s up to us to make sure this prescription for socialized medicine doesn’t pass.

If you can come to Washington to look your Member straight in the eye and tell them to keep their hands off your heatlh care, do it. If you can’t make it to Washington, go to your Member’s district office. And, if you can’t do that at least call and email.

Also, Americans for Prosperity is organizing a House Call to legislators district offices on Thursday at noon, and I encourage you to check out their website at www.americansforprosperity.org to see how you can take part in their efforts if you can’t make it to D.C.

Thanks so much and let’s keep up the fight!

You can follow her on Twitter @BachmannforMN6 and visit her website for updates and more information.

Now I understand why Rep. Bachmann’s been referred to as the Second Most Hated Conservative Woman in America and flogged daily on the liberal blogs :)
